Field Day 2002
This year the club did a field day exercise, although not quite what we expected! The plan was to go to a location 8000 feet plus, but due to the weather conditions like snow, slush and bad roads, not all of us would have been able to make it to the top. So we settled for a fantastic looking camp ground called Ice Hole, near Yellow Pine, Idaho.
As many of you know, the bands were not in the best of conditions this year and our secondary location, although very beautiful, was not the best for radiating a signal. This location was in a canyon. So we opted for a name change!
Even with a tri-bander we had a rough time. The following bands were covered: 10, 15, 20, 40, 75.
Here is the crew of operators and even the
local sheriff paid us a visit!
